Simple Tips For Dog Potty Training

same is not the case with dogs. So when starting dog potty
training becomes a headache, it is common to yell and hurl
abuses at the poor innocent soul. But, this doesn't have to be

this job much easier.
Without question, a dog gives lifelong love and affection to
their owner, making your dog or puppy understand the nuances of
potty training is trifle in comparison to this.
It is easier to train younger puppies and dogs, dogs that are
not home bred need special attention as additional effort is
required in getting rid of the wrong habits they have acquired.
The essence of dog potty training is to know the correct time IN
and time OUT. Generally it has been observed that after 20-25
minutes of eating or drinking a dog feels the urge to go potty.
So you need to instinctive, vigilant, and be able to comprehend
his actions.
Patience is inherently required as there can many a time when
you have to wait for long periods under the vagaries of weather
for your mate to potty. You need to be observant as dogs are
often easily distracted while going potty (for example by
humming of a bee, chirping of birds, etc.). A leash is a handy
tool under these circumstances. Dogs love their freedom, so
after potty ensure that you continue with your walk and not rush
back home.
There can be instances when your dog ends up going on the floor,
even after being trained. It is better to take the carrot
approach over getting angry and going off. Clean the floor at
the earliest and make him identify with the correct method. You
can use your own words such as "Go OUT", "Do It" or "Time to Go"
so as to indicate what action has to be taken. However, these
words have to be used repeatedly so that they are etched into
his memory and he can relate the action with the word.
Cheer your dog and praise him when he does it right. You are
laying the foundation for a relationship based on mutual trust.
Do it in the right spirit and your dog potty training efforts
will have paid off quickly.
