Stop My Dog From Chewing
from:I currently have three dogs, and tried to find out how to stop
my dog from chewing everything I own. Dogs truly are man and
women's best friend. I have had dogs since the day I was born.
When I have had a bad day, and I walk through the door I am
greeted by happiness. Dogs love us unconditionally. They don't
care if we are rich or poor. Just give them attention, and they
will give you love. When you have a dog with a behavior problem
it can be tough.
To find out how to stop my dog from chewing I read a lot of
books. My dog Stacy has ruined two brand new end tables by
chewing the corners off. She did it while I was sleeping, and I
did not realize it until I woke up. It is important not to scold
your dog after the incident, but during the incident. The dog
will not understand why he or she is in trouble from something
that has already been done. If you catch the dog in the act then
the dog will understand why it is being scolded.
To stop my dog from chewing took a lot of consistent work. The
first step to stop my dog from chewing was to coat the things
she liked to chew with some no chew spray that you buy at any
pet store. This didn't work very well. She still chewed on some
of the things I sprayed. I bought a different product to use,
but it had the same results.
The second step I tried to stop my dog from chewing was putting
a shoe she liked to chew on the floor. When she went for the
shoe I firmly said NO. Then I placed her toy on the ground by
the shoe, and when she started to chew the toy I praised her. I
repeated this over and over. It worked for the shoe, but nothing
else.
At this point I was ready to call Cesar Milan to help my dog
stop chewing. Well of coarse this was not going to happen, but I
found the next best person. Daniel Stevens has been training
peoples dogs for years, and I decided to try his methods. What
he offered was an online training coarse, and started with a
free training series. The free training coarse worked so well
that I wound up buying the rest of it. I was very impressed with
how easy it was to train a dog.
Not only was I able to stop my dog from chewing, but now she
responds to any command I give her. When we go to the dog park I
can take her leash off. She could be fifty feet away from me,
and if I call her name and say sit, she does. I would have never
been able to do this with out the help of Daniel Stevens. I
recommend his methods to any one with dog obedience problems.
I finally was able to stop my dog from chewing. If
you want to try the free mini coarse, or stop your dogs
disobedience problems click here It was a great help to me,
and my dog. I really believe in this system, and highly
recommend it to you.
